Easter activities in Swansea

Easter is almost among us, and we want everyone to have a fun filled half-term!

We have done the research to make your lives easier. Below you will find a variety of options, activities, recipes and crafts that you can do during your time off school and work.

swansea’s new coastal park

What better way to start of the holidays than going to see the new coastal park that is located directly next to Swansea arena. The brand new play area is a place where children can have fun and explore. You will also find a new restaurant which is currently serving hot drinks and cakes with an indoor and outdoor seating area.

This is a great new place in Swansea to go as a family.

cefn bryn

If long walks are your thing, then this location is one to tick off the list. Cefn Bryn is a 5-mile long walk in the Gower with a number footpaths across the site. So, if the sun is shining and you want the chance to get some fresh air, walk your dog, see beautiful countryside views and wildlife, then is definitely somewhere you should go!

There is no official car park at this location, however there is a small, rough pull at the top of the Bryn and a good deal of on-street parking in the villages nearby.

singleton boating lake

If you haven’t got around to visiting the boating lake in singleton, why wait any longer? The boating lake will be open throughout the Easter holidays from

Friday 8th April – Monday 25th April. You, your friends and family can hop on a pedal boat and navigate yourself around the lake while gliding along and enjoying the scenery.

If you’d prefer an activity with the family on land, luckily there is a crazy golf course in the exact same location where you can enjoy a round of golf with the family and compete with each other to get a hole in one.

If an Easter Bunny hunt sounds fun to you, then why take the kids to visit Oystermouth Castle in Mumbles. If they manage to find all the hidden Easter bunnies, then they will bag an Easter treat for themselves!

This event will be taking place on Sunday 17th April, 11am – 12pm.

Although this is a free event if you’re thinking of attending you will still have to pay the admission fees, which you can find below.

  • Children under 5 – free
  • Season pass available – enquire at the castle

singleton botanical gardens

If you’re looking for something more relaxing and slow placed, then taking a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Singleton Park could be perfect for you.

This garden is home to up to 200 different plants and flowers, some of which you may have never seen before. There are benches situated throughout the park so if you just want to sit and bask in the sun and admire the peaceful surroundings you can!

There is limited parking, however you could make use of the popular FREE bus services, where you can have free bus journeys in Swansea from April 15th – April 24th.

Entry to the park is free and the opening hours throughout April are 10am – 4.30pm.

Morriston Leisure Centre will be offering an intensive crash course in swimming lessons this Easter. This opportunity is perfect for any child who does not know how to swim, but wants to learn in a safe and fun environment

Come down to Plantasia from the 8th – 24th April, if you want to see if you can crack the trail and answer all of the questions about their ‘egg-cellent’ questions about their ‘egg-laying’ animals.

one world exhibition

The Waterfront Museum will be opening an art exhibition on 9th April until July. If you are interested in visiting the museum and seeing the art work from Penally Camp then you can do so this Easter with free entry!

During the holidays, there may be some days where you just want to chill in the house, particularly if it’s wet and gloomy outside. So why not try the following Easter recipes, they look delicious!

You can make these colourful Easter egg decorations with a few household staples such as plain flour, salt, string and a few other items. Once finished you can hang these decorations in your bedroom or anywhere you wish!

Next we have a slightly simpler but just as fun craft that you can make at home.

The Easter bunny loves to eat carrots, so why not make and design your own carrot balloons and leave them around your home to get in the Easter spirit.
